Theresa Evans in Conversation with Rebecca Petrowsky of Deathwalker Doula Services: Sharing Choosing to Die
Join us at Lion's Mouth Bookstore for an intimate evening with author Theresa Evans as she discusses her deeply personal book Choosing to Die: A Daughter’s Story of Supporting Her Mother’s End of Life Through Assisted Death.
Drawing from her experience as an ICU nurse and daughter, Evans reflects on the emotional, ethical, and practical realities of supporting a loved one who chooses medical assistance in dying.
The conversation will be guided by end-of-life doula Rebecca Petrowsky of Deathwalker Doula Services, who will help explore themes of caregiving, grief, choice, and compassionate end-of-life support.
This event offers a thoughtful space for readers, caregivers, deathcare professionals, and anyone interested in meaningful conversations about death, dying, and the choices families face at the end of life.

Mother’s Grief Circle - Remembrance, Shared Stories, Gentle Healing
Grief from miscarriage, stillbirth, or the loss of a child can feel incredibly isolating. It is a sorrow that lives deep in the bones, often unspoken and carried in silence. You are not alone and you do not have to carry it alone.
You are warmly invited to step into a sacred, judgment-free space created just for you - a circle of women who understand. This is an intimate gathering to honor your journeys, share your stories, and begin to gently move through the trauma together.
This is a free event, rooted in the power of community and shared experience. Whether your loss was last month or decades ago, your grief is welcome here.
What to Expect:
This is not a clinical support group, but a nurturing circle. We will move at the pace of trust.
Opening Circle & Grounding: we'll begin by creating a safe, quiet container for our time together, lighting a candle for remembrance.
Opportunity to Share: each woman will have the space and time to share her story, speak her baby's name, or simply sit in silence. There is no pressure to speak; listening is just as powerful.
Guided Healing Activities: during and following the sharing, we will engage in gentle, intentional activities designed to help process and move trauma through the body and spirit. This includes making a sacred bracelet to take home with you and more. This is an opportunity to create a simple token of remembrance.
Closing Circle: we will close by holding space for each other, reaffirming that we leave carrying our love, and the support of the circle within us.
This gathering is for you if:
· You have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or the loss of an infant or child.
· You are seeking connection with other women who "get it."
· You feel the need to honor your grief in a sacred space.
· You are ready to gently explore pathways toward healing.
Important Notes for Our Time Together:
Confidentiality is sacred; what is shared in the circle stays in the circle. This is a safe space for raw and real emotion.
Come as you are; tears, silence, laughter, anger - all of you is welcome here as there is no "right" way to grieve.
No cost, just heart; this circle is offered freely. All that is asked is that you come with an open heart and respect for the vulnerability of others.
Space is limited: to maintain the intimacy of the circle, space is very limited. Please RSVP only if you are committed to attending. You may do so by messaging Runic directly via facebook or email at runicapothecary@gmail.com or call Runic at 920.544.0048.
Please don't hesitate to reach out.
With the deepest tenderness and understanding,
Nicole, Runic Apothecary
